Job Summary

#Performs testing, calibration, and quality control for all laboratory tests approved by the Director of Lab according to department policy and procedures.# Follows proper procedure for obtaining patient specimens.# Identifies and follows through on problems that may adversely effect patient test results.

Minimum Qualifications

For Medical Lab Technician:# Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the ASCP or other nationally recognized accrediting organization, or within one year of hire for new graduates. For Medical Technologist: Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Science or related coursework, current certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (or equivalent) by the ASCP or other nationally recognized accrediting organization, or certified within one year if a new graduate.
