Chief Operating Officer (COO / Mining / LATAM) - Colombia

We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead mining operations and projects across Latin America, ensuring high standards of safety, productivity, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee mining operations, ensuring production targets, cost control, and profitability objectives are achieved. Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes, improve productivity, and reduce operational costs. Oversee mine planning, mineral processing, maintenance, exploration, and technical services.

Manage expansion, construction, commissioning, and start-up of mining projects. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Manage operational and capital expenditure budgets (OPEX and CAPEX). Lead multidisciplinary and international teams, fostering a culture of operational excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, or a related field. Postgraduate degree preferred. Ideally 20 years of experience in the mining industry, including at least 10 years in senior operational leadership roles. Experience in mechanized underground mining is essential. Strong knowledge of mineral processing, mine planning, and operational optimization.

Experience in mining project construction, expansion, commissioning, or start-up. Demonstrated success managing complex mining operations and international teams. Proven track record of improving productivity, reducing costs, and increasing profitability. Advanced English proficiency is required.
