Survey Crew Chief

As a Survey Crew Chief , you will be responsible for leading a field crew on conventional, robotic, and GPS land surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, residential, commercial, various route types, and construction layout.

This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced survey professional ready to lead a crew and further their career within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a field crew on conventional, robotic, and GPS land surveying projects. Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA, residential, commercial, route, and construction layout surveys. Operate Trimble data collection equipment, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations. Download and submit daily field data files.

Prepare and organize field sketches and digital photographs. Complete daily checklists, timesheets, and vehicle navigation.

Qualifications

4+ years of land surveying experience preferred. Associate degree or higher in surveying technology, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field with registration as an SIT or PLS preferred, but not required. Comprehensive knowledge of GPS surveying, including static, fast static, RTK, and VRS. Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations required.

Strong management and organizational skills while running a field crew. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, navigation programs, and Trimble Data Transfer a plus. Position will involve some travel out of town. Individual must be able to travel as needed. Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
