Travel Coordinator

Summary Provides efficient and cost- effective office support operations to the NYPA enterprise. Ensures NYPA information assets are protected, accessible and supports business needs. Full-Service Travel Agency handling efficient and cost-effective domestic and international travel requests for the NYPA enterprise including air/ground transportation, lodging and/or vehicle rental arrangements for an individual or group of travelers.

Responsible for the coordination of off-site meetings for groups in accordance with Travel and Accounting policies and procedures. #LI-VB1 Responsibilities Process travel accommodations (air, train, hotel, car rentals) through Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) for approved travel requests in a cost effective, timely manner in accordance with Corporate Travel and Accounting policies and procedures; distribute itineraries and completed reservation information to employees.

Assess unexpected travel complications and/or issues and identify a solution in a timely manner. Provide back-up itineraries and receipts for travel inquiries related to expense reporting. Become familiar with business relationships between key stakeholders, travel industry contacts, and NYS agencies, e.g., Office of General Services (OGS).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Very good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines and provide a high level of customer service. Education, Experience and Certifications High school diploma required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in the travel industry preferred. Proficiency with Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) required. Physical Requirements Minimal travel to NYPA sites, vendor properties and OGS Albany for program administration as needed. The estimated salary range for this position is: $26.15 - $32.82 per hour . The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Disclaimer: NYPA accepts a standard 12-month F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) visa for certain roles. However, please be advised that NYPA is not an E-Verify employer, and as such, we are ineligible to support the F-1 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) OPT extension (24-month add-on).
