Position Summary

The Inventory Control Lead supports the daily execution of inventory control activities within the Distribution Center, ensuring inventory accuracy, transaction integrity, and compliance with established operational and safety procedures. This position serves as a hands-on resource for the Inventory Control team, coordinating daily assignments, assisting with cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and providing technical guidance and training to team members.

What You'll Do

Support the Inventory Control Supervisor or Manager in coordinating daily assignments, prioritizing workloads, monitoring progress, and ensuring inventory control tasks are completed accurately and on time. Perform and coordinate scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts, verify physical inventory against Warehouse Management System (WMS) records, and ensure accurate documentation of count results.

Research shortages, overages, missing inventory, and transaction discrepancies. Review inventory movements and supporting documentation to identify root causes before recommending inventory adjustments in accordance with established approval procedures. Verify product identification, quantities, locations, and inventory movements before processing transactions.

Ensure all WMS and scanner transactions are accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation. Proactively identify and address inventory concerns, including mislabeled products, unsecured materials, incorrect storage locations, damaged packaging, and unsafe conditions. Promote organized storage locations and proper inventory handling practices.

Provide hands-on training and guidance on cycle counting, scanner operations, product identification, inventory procedures, equipment operation when authorized, and effective problem-solving. Reinforce standard operating procedures and safe work practices. Collaborate with Receiving, Replenishment, Shipping, and Fulfillment teams to investigate inventory-related issues, resolve operational discrepancies, and support accurate product movement throughout the Distribution Center.

Maintain clear and accurate records of inventory investigations, count results, discrepancies, corrective actions, and follow-up activities. Communicate recurring issues, operational concerns, and recommended improvements to warehouse leadership. Follow and reinforce company safety policies, equipment operating procedures, and warehouse standards.

Take appropriate action when unsafe conditions are identified and promptly escalate concerns requiring management intervention. Serve as a positive example through professionalism, integrity, constructive communication, teamwork, and solution-focused decision-making. Provide guidance to team members, address routine operational challenges, and escalate performance or conduct concerns to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager.

What You’ll Bring Required (5-7 Bullet Points Max) High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, cycle counting, or a related distribution environment. Working knowledge of inventory control processes, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, missing inventory, overages, and discrepancy investigations.

Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS), RF scanners, or other inventory tracking technology. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to investigate inventory discrepancies before recommending corrective actions. Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to train and support team members while maintaining professionalism.

Ability to perform physical warehouse duties, follow established safety procedures, and work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Previous experience serving as a Team Lead, Trainer, or senior Inventory Control Associate in a distribution or warehouse environment. Experience with Net.

Suite or a comparable ERP/WMS platform, including inventory transactions, location management, and inventory adjustments. Forklift or reach truck experience and certification, or the ability to obtain company-required equipment authorization. Target Compensation Range: The posted pay range of $22.00 - $24.00 represents the anticipated hiring range for this position.

Individual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, geographic location, market conditions, internal compensation practices, and other job-related business considerations, consistent with applicable law.
