Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end land acquisition processes for infrastructure projects (Railway/Highway/Metro/Other BOT projects).
  • Liaise with State/Central Government authorities, local administration, revenue departments, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth acquisition and transfer of land.
  • Ensure compliance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and other relevant land and revenue laws.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and resolve challenges related to land disputes, compensation, resettlement, and rehabilitation.
  • Coordinate with legal teams, project managers, and contractors to ensure land-related clearances are aligned with project schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports of land acquisition progress.
  • Provide expert advice to management on land acquisition policies, legal implications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Represent the organization in negotiations, meetings, and discussions with government authorities and affected parties.

Requirements

Experience Requirements

  • Total Professional Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience.
  • Relevant Experience (any one of the following) At least 5 years’ experience in Railway/Highway projects as a Liaison Manager with direct involvement in land acquisition for BOT/Construction Agencies. At least 3 years at Manager level or above in a Railway PSU handling construction project with significant land acquisition responsibilities. At least 3 years in State Government Administration/Revenue Department as a Gazetted Officer handling and enabling land acquisition for infrastructure projects. Key Skills & Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of Land Acquisition Laws and Revenue Laws (mandatory).
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex legal and administrative frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of handling large-scale land acquisition projects.
  • Ability to manage conflict resolution with fairness and transparency.
  • High integrity and strong ethical standards.
  • Familiarity with rehabilitation & resettlement (R&R) frameworks.
