Job description
About the Role
Uber’s vision of “igniting opportunity by setting the world in motion” depends on our customers seamlessly paying for goods and services and our ability to reliably pay our partners. Additionally, we must ensure that each commerce interaction is accurately recorded and transparent to all parties involved. The Uber Payments Platform team is an integral part of realizing that vision.
Money is a sensitive topic for every interaction on our marketplaces. Our mission is to ensure the experience of paying and being paid is as frictionless, personal, and ubiquitous as possible. As a PM on the Uber Payments Platform team, you'll be responsible for helping shape this experience and growing the platform, thus enabling the foundation for the growth of Uber’s overall business!
Uber’s Payments Platform is a ledger that orchestrates the movement of money between all users on our marketplaces (riders, drivers, couriers, restaurants, eaters, shippers, carriers, etc.), processing orders at the scale of tens of millions per day. Being the core platform orchestrating all money movements in our marketplaces, it’s essential to ensure the platform is reliable enough to handle the scale of our operations while versatile and flexible enough to handle the ever-growing use cases we offer through our different lines of business.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience with Platform Product Management experience. Proven passion for building platforms and products at scale. Strong technical fluency and comfort in discussing technology concepts and an ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams. Proven product/business sense–you can see how impacting one lever in a sophisticated system affects many others.
Not afraid to dive into metrics and data whether it’s to diagnose a problem, evaluate a solution, or propose a new critical metric. You have experience using analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience delivering highly successful and innovative platform products with your fingerprints all over them–you’re proud of what you’ve accomplished. Expertise in payments product management preferred, both on the B2B and B2C sides. A technical background in software engineering or a similar technical domain preferred.
Experience working in a multisided marketplace business. Phenomenal track record of working across business, operations, engineering, and analytics teams, with proven examples of how you prioritize work across the team.
