Business Analyst – Mainframe DB2 & Data Migration | Banking

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong understanding of Mainframe environments, DB2 databases, and migration processes . The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the banking industry , preferably working with Santander , and will be comfortable collaborating with both business and technical teams in an international environment.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements . Participate in data migration projects , ensuring data integrity, consistency, and alignment with business needs. Analyze existing Mainframe and DB2 systems , identifying dependencies and migration requirements. Collaborate with technical teams to define data mapping, transformation rules, and migration strategies .

Support testing activities, including data validation, reconciliation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) . Identify potential risks, issues, and improvements throughout the migration lifecycle. Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, and project managers . Prepare functional documentation and monitor project deliverables.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the banking or financial services sector . Strong knowledge of Mainframe environments and DB2 databases . Previous experience participating in data migration or system migration projects . Experience in functional analysis, requirements gathering, and process documentation .

Understanding of data mapping, validation, and reconciliation processes . Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Fluent English.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of legacy banking systems and modernization initiatives . Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, and testing methodologies . Proactive mindset and continuous improvement orientation. Strong teamwork, empathy, and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and a client-focused approach. Fluent Spanish. Experience in the banking/financial sector.
