Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Purchaser to manage our end-to-end procurement process. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services at the best possible prices, while strictly maintaining our high standards of quality and operational efficiency. You will act as the vital link between our internal departments and external suppliers, driving cost-saving initiatives and optimizing our supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies tailored to meet organizational needs and production timelines. Supplier Evaluation: Source, vet, and evaluate potential suppliers based on stringent criteria including quality, reliability, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.

Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to secure the best possible deals and favorable credit terms. Cost Optimization: Proactively identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements without compromising on product quality. Operations & Inventory Management Order Processing: Manage the lifecycle of purchase orders, ensuring accurate, authorized, and timely processing from requisition to delivery.

Inventory Control: Closely monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent operational shortages or costly overstock situations. Issue Resolution: Act swiftly to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to damaged orders, delayed deliveries, or poor supplier performance. Collaboration & Relationship Management Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with various internal departments (e.

g., operations, finance, production) to thoroughly understand and fulfill their specific procurement requirements. Supplier Partnerships: Develop, nurture, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply chain stability and preferential service. Compliance, Research & Reporting Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing market research to stay updated on emerging industry trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations.

Policy Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations in all purchasing and vendor interaction activities. Performance Tracking: Track key procurement metrics (e.g., supplier lead time, cost per invoice, defect rate) to identify areas for continuous improvement. Executive Reporting: Prepare and present regular, detailed reports on procurement activities, budget utilization, and vendor performance to leadership.

Qualifications

& Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience as a Purchaser, Procurement Officer, Buyer, or similar role in supply chain management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (e.

g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis). Core Competencies: Exceptional negotiation and networking skills. Strong analytical mindset with a talent for translating data into actionable strategies. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
