Marketing & Communications Director
Job description
Job Function – Develops and executes comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to support the Bank’s brand. Leads brand management activities through the directing and producing of marketing, advertising, digital media, social media and public relations. Collaborate with management to develop the department budget and manage special projects.
Leads the bank’s overall marketing strategy, ensuring brand growth, customer engagement, and alignment with goals and objectives through integrated digital, print, and community initiatives across the footprint within multiple states.
Job Responsibilities
– Manages the Bank’s brand within the overall marketing and communication (MarCom) strategies through developing comprehensive plans to achieve goals. Responsible for Bank’s annual media plan for advertising. Serves as the internal brand expert ensuring adherence to graphic standards.\ Acts as the media contact for all local TV, radio, print and digital media outlets.
Develops, gains approval and issues all public releases for the Bank. Manages outside agencies/vendors for advertising creative production and media placement. Maintains inventory control and purchases all promotional and specialty items for the Bank. Manages/coordinates the production of all marketing and communication materials including developing content and overseeing/designing marketing printed materials, videos, point of sale items and all advertising (TV, print, outdoor, radio, etc.)
Ensures all creative materials are in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines. Manages the traffic of all creative to media vendors. Manages web/interactive and internal/external digital and new media communication strategies. Ensures content for the website and intranet are updated on a regular basis to remain current and accurate.
Oversees and implements the Bank’s social media strategy to increase brand awareness and consistently build following while planning and obtaining approval for all social media posts. Effectively communicate results of reports to management and other key stakeholders, as appropriate. Manages internal and external events as needed (i.
e. groundbreaking celebrations, grand openings, community events, etc.) Serves on the Star Squad to enhance employee culture. Manages the donation and sponsorship requests for events across the Bank’s footprint. Develops, edits and obtains approvals for all customer communications, including eBlasts, direct mail, digital signs, ATM screens, etc.
Writes, edits and distributes most email communications to employees. Develops department budget and manages throughout the year by reviewing invoices, categorizing marketing expenditures, filing correspondence/records, managing files, organizing workflow and preparing invoices for payment by accounting department to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
Participates in special projects and committees as needed such as mergers/acquisitions, assisting with leadership presentations, etc. All other duties as assigned.
Education
and Related Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required. 10+ years of marketing/communications experience required (3+ years in banking preferred) 2+ years in a management role preferred Skills and Abilities – Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail in writing, editing and proofreading materials.
Decision-making skills and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Adobe Illustrator. Must possess knowledge of computers and computer operations MS Office software. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess good organizational skills. Must possess ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy. Must possess decision making skills. Must possess knowledge of standard office equipment including computer, fax machine, scanner and copy machine. Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements – Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions. Ability to read and interpret a document. Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions. Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 50 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
