On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) – Home Health & Hospice First Choice Home Health & Hospice – Salt Lake County, UT Part-Time / On-Call Rotation: 1 Week On, 2 Weeks Off Pay: $5/hour while on call + $75–$125 per completed visit Flexible On-Call Nursing with a Predictable Rotation First Choice Home Health & Hospice is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours support for our home health and hospice patients throughout Salt Lake County.

The current rotation is one week on, followed by two weeks off , making this a great opportunity for an experienced RN who wants to supplement their income without adding another traditional nursing schedule . You are paid $5 per hour while assigned to on-call availability , plus $75–$125 for each completed patient visit , depending on visit type.

What You'll Do

As an On-Call RN, you'll provide after-hours clinical support to patients and families when needs arise outside normal business hours.

Responsibilities include

Respond to after-hours patient and caregiver calls Assess patient needs by phone and determine when an in-person visit is appropriate Complete home health and hospice nursing visits as needed Assess changes in patient condition Provide symptom management and nursing interventions according to the plan of care Administer medications and treatments as ordered Educate and support patients, families, and caregivers Communicate changes in condition to the clinical team Coordinate with physicians and other providers when needed Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation Support hospice patients and families during urgent or end-of-life situations Qualifications Required: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing 2+ years of direct patient-care nursing experience Strong nursing assessment and clinical decision-making skills Excellent communication skills Comfortable working independently in patients' homes Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to travel throughout Salt Lake County during assigned coverage Dependable and responsive during your on-call rotation Preferred: Home health experience Hospice experience Palliative or end-of-life care experience Previous on-call or after-hours nursing experience Why First Choice?
