Job description
Position Title: Finisher Employment Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt Department: Production Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime as required) Position Overview The Finisher is responsible for finishing, repairing, and inspecting fiberglass components while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Finisher, the employee is expected to perform the following duties: Finish and repair fiberglass components using spray guns, buffers, polishing tools, putty, and fillers Select appropriate abrasives and materials to meet production requirements Perform grinding, polishing, and finishing processes according to company standards Remove scratches, fill voids, and apply finishes as required Work with resins, gel-coats, fiberglass materials, foam, and adhesives Operate hand and power tools including spray guns, sanders, drills, grinders, hoists, and other equipment Inspect components for defects and perform necessary repairs Follow all instructions from supervisors and complete assigned tasks Maintain a clean and safe work environment Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, and safety glasses Work in a hot, humid, non-climate-controlled environment Stand, bend, reach, climb, and move continuously during shifts Work shifts of 10+ hours as needed Lift up to 50 pounds Work in a fast-paced and noisy production environment Work overtime (planned or unplanned) as required Required Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies Adhere to all safety standards, including chemical handling procedures Maintain high-quality workmanship standards Demonstrate reliability and dependability Work effectively in a team environment Follow verbal and written instructions Use hand, battery-powered, and pneumatic tools Work in close quarters and limited spaces when necessary Experience with fiberglass and/or gel-coat applications (required) High school diploma or GED (required) Dougherty Manufacturing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
