Position Overview

The Weekend Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct supervision, support, and care to students and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing in Benedictine's residential programs. Working in a residential setting, the DSP assists students with activities of daily living, skill development, behavioral support, recreational activities, and individualized goals while promoting independence, safety, dignity, and quality of life.

Essential Duties

Provide direct support and supervision to individuals Assist individuals with personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, medication administration, and community participation. Promote independence, choice, self-advocacy, and meaningful engagement in community activities. Assist students in participating in individual and group leisure activities while promoting engagement and independence.

Teach and support goals and objectives outlined identified in the personalized plan for each child or adult Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, progress notes, medication records, and incident reports. Communicate health concerns and updates to nursing staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Assist individuals in maintaining positive relationships with family members, friends, and community supports.
