The Agfa-Gevaert Group strives to be the partner of choice for imaging and information systems by delivering innovative technology, high-quality solutions, and sustainable business practices. Agfa’s headquarters and parent company are located in Mortsel, Belgium.
About the Role
Agfa is seeking a Configuration Manager to join its Global ICS (Information & Communication Systems) organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of configuration and asset information across Agfa's global IT environment. You will own the Configuration Management process and ensure that the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accurately reflects the current state of IT services, infrastructure, applications, and assets throughout their lifecycle.
As a key member of the IT Service Management organization, you will support critical IT processes including Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Asset Management, and Risk Management. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, business units, service providers, and technology partners to ensure reliable data, effective governance, and operational excellence.
About You
(Skills Required): You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about data quality and governance. You enjoy collaborating with multiple stakeholders, improving processes, and creating transparency across complex IT environments. You possess: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Strong coordination and organizational skills. A structured and process-driven mindset. Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and compliance principles. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
(Duties & Responsibilities): Own and continuously improve the Configuration Management process. Ensure Configuration Item (CI) records remain accurate, complete, and up to date throughout their lifecycle. Manage, maintain, and enhance the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), including data structures, standards, and governance controls.
Support Change Management by ensuring configuration data is available, accurate, and aligned with approved changes. Conduct configuration audits and verification activities to ensure compliance and data accuracy. Monitor and improve data integrity and quality across configuration and asset records. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, business units, vendors, and service providers to maintain accurate configuration information.
Validate and reconcile managed Configuration Items with Agfa business units. Ensure timely tracking and return of leased devices to leasing companies. Produce governance reports, metrics, and compliance reporting related to configuration and asset management. Manage configuration-related escalations and ensure timely resolution.
Act as backup for the Change Manager when required.
What You'll Bring
(Experience & Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field. Proven experience in Configuration Management, Asset Management, IT Service Management, or IT Operations. Strong understanding of Configuration Management principles, CMDB governance, and IT asset lifecycle management.
Experience working with CMDB platforms and asset management solutions. Solid understanding of IT Service Management processes, including Change, Incident, and Problem Management. Experience working in outsourced IT environments and collaborating with external service providers. Strong reporting, data governance, and process management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination capabilities. ITIL Foundation certification or comparable IT Service Management certification is considered an asset. You bring a customer-side perspective: you understand the needs of an internal IT organization, can translate business impact into provider priorities, and are prepared to challenge suppliers constructively when service restoration is at risk.
Substantial recent experience performing Configuration Management from within an internal enterprise IT function, with direct accountability to the customer organization and its business stakeholders. Experience gained only in an external service-provider delivery role is not sufficient for this position. Experience working in outsourced or multi-provider IT environments and directing multiple service providers during incidents.
Demonstrated ability to operate from the customer side of an outsourced model, holding service providers accountable, resolving cross-provider ownership issues, and protecting enterprise-wide business priorities during incidents. Why Join Us: Work in a global, multicultural, and collaborative team environment. Opportunity to contribute to digital transformation initiatives.
Competitive compensation and benefits. Long-term learning and career development opportunities. Be part of a global IT organization that underpins business-critical operations worldwide. Collaborate with international teams, service providers, and technology partners. Play a key role in improving data quality, governance, and operational stability across Agfa's global IT landscape.
Help build a reliable and transparent IT environment that enables effective service delivery and informed decision-making. If you are passionate about Configuration Management, governance, data integrity, and continuous improvement, and you enjoy working in a global IT environment, we invite you to join Agfa and contribute to the reliability and effectiveness of our worldwide IT services.
