About the Role
The Lube Technician plays a critical role in maintaining vehicle performance and safety by performing routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and fluid checks. This position ensures that vehicles operate efficiently and reliably by adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The Lube Tech will interact directly with customers, providing clear communication about services performed and any additional maintenance needs.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential to prevent vehicle breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan. Ultimately, this role supports the overall service department by contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and mechanical systems. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various physical positions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a Lube Technician or in a similar automotive service role. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or equivalent. Familiarity with computerized service systems and vehicle diagnostic tools. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Perform oil changes, lubrication, and other routine maintenance services on a variety of vehicles. Inspect vehicles for fluid leaks, tire wear, and other basic mechanical issues, reporting findings to service advisors. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and tools to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding services performed and any recommended maintenance. Follow all safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines to ensure quality and compliance. Skills: The required skills such as basic automotive knowledge and attention to detail are essential for accurately performing maintenance tasks and identifying potential vehicle issues.
Physical stamina and manual dexterity enable the Lube Tech to handle tools and parts safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
Preferred skills
like ASE certification and familiarity with diagnostic tools enhance the technician’s ability to provide higher quality service and troubleshoot more complex problems. Strong communication skills are used daily to explain services to customers and collaborate with team members, ensuring transparency and customer satisfaction.
