Job Description UW Medical Center-Montlake – has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse for our Pre Anesthesia / Pre Surgery Department . WORK SCHEDULE  Days  Evenings Weekends Per Diem/intermittent DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Our Pre-Anesthesia Clinic RNs provide a complete assessment of the patient and address medical issues to reduce the risk of complications of anesthesia during surgery.

Pre-op teaching is also part of the patient visit. The Pre-Anesthesia Clinic will complete assessments for 60+ patients/day which is done as a clinic visit, phone interview or a chart review. Nurses receive in depth specialty training to perform a complete pre-anesthesia evaluation . POSITION HIGHLINGTS  Assessment and nursing diagnosis of patients  Care planning  Patient teaching  Discharge and transfer planning  Admission, discharge and transfer processes REQUIREMENTS  2 years current recent Critical Care experience, Emergency or PACU Phase I and/or Phase II  PACU experience preferred.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
