Facility Worker

• Lake Wales, FL, Salary Range: $20.06 - $27.77Hourly, GENERAL PURPOSE Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled trades work in constructing, maintaining and repairing building structures and facilities of the city. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the close supervision of the Facility Supervisor. SUPERVISION EXERCISED None.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in construction, maintenance and repair within several facility-related industries; including, but not limited to:

• Carpentry
• Masonry
• Electrical
• Plumbing
• Painting/Pressure Washing
• HVAC Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site; maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order; Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: One (1) to Two (2) years of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs; knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.

Skilled in the operation of tools and equipment. Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; ability to communicate orally; ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely; ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; ability to establish effective working relationships; ability to effectively utilize electronic work order systems.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Valid Florida State Driver's license. Current Certified Pool Operator Certification or ability to obtain within six month of hire. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Motorized vehicle, power and hand tools and equipment for general construction work; phone; mobile or portable radio; computer and/or laptop.
