Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-oriented Construction General Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will support construction projects by performing a variety of physical tasks including site preparation, material handling, assisting skilled trades, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction setting while contributing to the successful and timely completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) as needed Load and unload construction materials and distribute them to appropriate locations Prepare and clean job sites by removing debris, hazards, and waste materials Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely Set up and take down temporary structures (scaffolding, barricades, ramps) Dig trenches, backfill holes, and compact earth Mix and pour concrete, asphalt, or other materials as directed Follow blueprints, instructions, and safety guidelines Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition Comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal safety regulations Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor Qualifications Previous construction or general labor experience preferred Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team Reliable transportation to job sites Our Culture & Benefits At Strategic Group, we’re committed to helping you build a career you’re excited about.
