District Chef Needed for School Food Service

District Chef needed for school food service program. Monday through Friday Full time position. Occasional nights and weekend for catering events.

Culinary experience is required. Must be willing to travel with in the school district. Chef testing may be given. Must be able to obtain the proper documentation to work in schools.

Oversee and train cooks in each school within the district. Ensure proper cooking procedures and presentation of food is being observed.

The School District Chef will train and mentor food service teams, lead Chef Days, and culinary promotions. While supporting USDA-compliant menu development, monitor food quality and safety. Introduce innovative student-focused menu concepts. The ideal candidate is a hands-on culinary professional who enjoys developing people, creating great food, and making a positive impact on the student dining experience.

ServSafe® certification required.

• Must have experience in catering.
• Must have experience in satellite preparation.
• K-12 experience a plus.
• Creating different menus items while adhering to school food service guideline NSLP.
• Place food orders
• Monthly inventory.
• Use of personal protective equipment at all times.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
