JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Advancement DEPARTMENT: Calvary Christian Academy REPORTS TO: Director of Advancement HOURS: Full Time (40 hrs) LOCATION: All Calvary Christian Academy, Fort Lauderdale ________________________________________________________________________ At Calvary Christian Academy, a ministry of Calvary Chapel, we are a community of Christian believers who exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ through a biblical school environment that prepares students to glorify God spiritually, academically, and socially.

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Advancement with all aspects of development, specifically raising support for the current and future financial needs of the Academy.
This person will effectively make disciples through an Advancement program administered with excellence and efficiency. Scope: The Assistant Director of Advancement works closely with the Director of Advancement to support the Academy’s advancement efforts and build strong relationships with parents, donors, corporate sponsors, and the school community.
As a representative of Calvary Christian Academy, this person helps plan and execute the department’s fundraising and development efforts, including capital campaigns, sponsorships, donor engagement, events, and advancement communications. This role supports the overall strategy and administration of the Advancement Department, with a clear understanding of the Academy’s financial needs and fundraising priorities.
The Assistant Director is responsible for coordinating development activities, managing annual strategies and communications, maintaining strong donor and community relationships, and ensuring that advancement initiatives are organized, professional, and aligned with the mission of Calvary Christian Academy. The Assistant Director also helps foster a welcoming, Christ-centered environment and approaches all advancement work with professionalism, integrity, and a spirit of service.
Specific Responsibilities: Work with the Director of Advancement to develop, implement, and promote the Capital Campaign and Annual Fund. Build and maintain strong, personal relationships with donors and prospective donors. Support a consistent and organized donor relations program that encourages meaningful, long-term engagement.
Develop, organize, and distribute Capital Campaign materials and communications. Maintain accurate and confidential donor and campaign records, including giving information, contact information, notes, and relationship history. Manage and update the donor database and related software to ensure information is current, accurate, and useful to the Advancement team.
Prepare reports and provide regular updates to the Director of Advancement and Executive Leadership Team regarding fundraising activity, donor engagement, and campaign progress. Coordinate Advancement mailings, communications, and events, including planning, logistics, and follow-up. Assist with other Advancement initiatives and projects as directed by the Director of Advancement.
This position does require outside time for attendance at advancement events Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Skills/Gifts: Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ, His Word, and the mission of Calvary Chapel and Calvary Christian Academy. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required. Two to three years of experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of results in securing individual and/or corporate support preferred.
Passion for Calvary Christian Academy and a strong understanding of school development and advancement. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with parents, donors, staff, leadership, and the broader school community. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of audiences.
Strong administrative, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent phone and customer service skills. Strong gifts of administration, discernment, and relationship-building.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the Advancement team and school leadership Must be able to lift 40 lbs
