Fabrication Specialty Machine Operator/Shake-out

Job Details: Job Location: Brookville Manufacturing Plant

• Brookville, PA, Salary Range: $15.00 - $18.00Hourly, The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining fabrication equipment to include shears, punch presses, press brakes, notches, and turret punches. The Machine Operator contributes to the continuous improvement of the manufacturing facility in the following areas: Safety: Identifies safety Hazards Reports any safety concerns Helps resolve safety issues Must be able to lift 35 lbs as part of the job function Quality: Recognizes faulty performance promptly in order to avoid damage to dies Inspects dies and punches before and after each use and reports defects Verifies quality on a continuing basis Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels Verify the implementation of solutions Productivity: Sets up, operates and maintains presses, shears, strippets, and other press department equipment as assigned Selects various machine speeds, dies, and settings for different metal thicknesses and part sizes Performs all operations on presses Sets up various jobs form instructions, drawings, or blue prints with little or no help Qualifications: Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: An understanding of all productivity assignments Ability to use jigs, gauges, and standard measuring instruments Experience in operating with various size and types of metal Ability to perform set-ups, work to close tolerances, and handle a wide variety of complex operations Small motor skills required Good short term memory skills Intermediate math skills Company Conformance Statements: In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following: Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
