Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Field Assets & Operations Manager to oversee the planning, deployment, maintenance, utilisation, and governance of commercial field assets that support business operations. The successful candidate will ensure that operational equipment is effectively managed throughout its lifecycle, from acquisition and deployment to maintenance, tracking, recovery, and replacement.

The role requires close collaboration with commercial, operations, finance, procurement, and technical teams to maximise asset performance while strengthening operational controls and improving field productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Lifecycle Management Maintain accurate records of company-owned operational assets across multiple locations. Oversee asset allocation, transfers, recoveries and disposals. Conduct regular verification exercises to ensure asset accuracy and accountability. Improve asset utilisation while reducing idle or underperforming equipment.

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability Develop preventive and corrective maintenance programmes. Coordinate repair activities with internal teams and external service providers. Monitor equipment condition and recommend refurbishment or replacement. Ensure adequate availability of critical spare parts. Operational Performance Monitor equipment utilisation and operational efficiency.

Analyse performance trends and recommend improvements. Develop initiatives that improve field productivity through better equipment deployment. Support business expansion by ensuring operational assets are available where required. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Evaluate new technologies and equipment that improve operational effectiveness.

Lead pilot programmes for new solutions. Recommend process improvements that optimize equipment performance and reduce operating costs. Promote innovation while ensuring practical business value. Systems & Reporting Develop reliable asset tracking and reporting systems. Produce periodic reports on utilization, maintenance, losses and operational performance.

Support implementation of digital asset management tools. Maintain accurate documentation for audit purposes. Supplier & Contractor Management Identify and manage suppliers of operational equipment and maintenance services. Monitor supplier performance. Negotiate service agreements and maintenance contracts. Ensure quality standards are maintained across all outsourced services.

Governance & Compliance Establish strong controls governing asset movement and accountability. Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures. Investigate asset discrepancies and implement corrective measures. Support internal audit and compliance activities. Leadership Lead and develop the field asset management team.

Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Coach employees and build technical capability. Foster collaboration across business functions.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline. Minimum of 5–8 years' experience managing physical assets, maintenance operations or field equipment. Professional certification in Asset Management or Project Management is an advantage.

Experience leading operational or technical teams. Experience with ERP or asset management systems.
