Salad/Prep Cook

Position: Salad/Prep Cook Part Time Summary of requirements: The Salad/Prep Cook at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is responsible for the proper preparation and execution of lunch and dinner menu items. Successful applicants have already mastered the basics of food preparation. This position takes part in the shift execution of menu items with emphasis on seed to table produce, home cooked desserts, and any other menu items as needed.

Must have a do whatever is needed attitude. This position supports management by preparing great menu items to recipe in a timely manner. Specific Duties: Executes cold and hot side menu items to high quality standards Able to perform under time restraints with a positive attitude Ensure the proper storage of foods in designated areas, following wrapping, dating and labeling procedures Ensure all Shaker Village safety and sanitation requirements are met daily Utilize approved food production standards to maintain proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control Role model teamwork and great guest service Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements Job duties are subject to change as needed Must have ability to compose aesthetically pleasing main dishes, salads, desserts Standards of Performance: Demonstrate strong passion and motivation to create excellent meals Show ability to prepare and execute menu items to recipe standards Possess good kitchen practices, protocols and procedures Physical Requirements: Must be capable of standing for long periods Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds Must have excellent manual dexterity Qualifications: High school diploma required Able to pass a criminal record background and reference check Available to work any shift as needed, including weekends
