Job Summary
Inductotherm Corp has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Mechanic to join our team onsite in Rancocas, New Jersey, Monday-Friday, 5:00am-3:30pm. The Industrial Mechanic is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing components and equipment used in induction heating and melting systems. This position requires a skilled tradesperson with broad mechanical and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will build and assemble products from raw materials while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibility. Duties/Responsibilities: Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical components including copper bus bars, tubing, induction coils, piping systems, structural weldments, and industrial equipment according to engineering specifications.
Perform mechanical assembly of power transmission components, including belts, chains, couplings, pulleys, sprockets, bushings, hubs, and bearings. Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, form, machine, finish, and assemble metal components. Operate fabrication machinery such as shears, brakes, presses, roll formers, hydraulic presses, hydraulic benders, drill presses, band saws, CNC punch machines, and related equipment.
Perform MIG welding, brazing, soldering, TIG welding (preferred), plasma cutting, and torch work as required. Assemble and install piping, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications while verifying quality and dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments.
Layout, measure, and mark dimensions and reference points on materials using appropriate tools and templates. Recognize and ensure proper setup and assembly of induction coil windings and related components. Clean components and work surfaces using solvents, degreasers, abrasives, and other approved cleaning agents prior to assembly, brazing, or welding.
Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and electric pallet trucks, and material-handling equipment. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Perform general housekeeping and workplace organization. Maintain regular attendance and work overtime as required.
Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in fabrication, assembly, welding, piping systems, sheet metal work, and the use of industrial hand and power tools. Proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and basic geometry.
Ability to interpret drawings and schematics and accurately use measuring and layout tools to ensure dimensional accuracy. Ability to perform MIG welding and brazing; TIG welding experience preferred. Ability to learn and operate CNC fabrication equipment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Willingness to attend training and development programs to enhance job skills. Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material-handling equipment preferred. Industrial painting, refractory installation, masonry, carpentry, or roofing experience is a plus.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required. Technical certification, vocational training, apprenticeship, or related mechanical/fabrication education preferred. Minimum of 2 years of industrial manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical assembly, maintenance, or related experience preferred. Experience in welding, metal fabrication, pipe fitting, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, or industrial equipment assembly is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks for 8-10 hours per day. Ability to lift and carry up to 51 pounds. Good vision, depth perception, and ability to distinguish colors. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to fabricate, assemble, and manipulate components. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and workplace communication. Valid driver's license required. Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice when required. Must disclose any surgical implants, pins, braces, or other devices that may be affected by induction fields. Salary: Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications. Salary Range: $20.58 - $28.66/hour Relocation: R elocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
