Activity Assistant Location: Newark, DE, 19713-2942 Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to join our team in Newark, DE. The ideal candidate will support the planning and implementation of engaging activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in organizing and leading recreational and therapeutic activities for residents. Encourage resident participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment. Help set up and clean up activity areas and materials. Monitor residents during activities to ensure safety and well-being. Collaborate with the activity coordinator and other staff to develop new programs.

Document resident participation and report any concerns or changes in behavior. Provide companionship and support to residents during activities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in recreational therapy, caregiving, or related field preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with elderly or disabled individuals. Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor. Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.

Work Environment This position is based in a residential care facility in Newark, DE. The role involves standing, walking, and assisting residents with various activities throughout the day.
