Private Equity Intern

We are looking for Private Equity Interns (f/m/d) to join our BU team in Munich and Zug. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to the private equity industry and insight into BU’s investment strategy.

You will work closely with experienced investment professionals and receive hands-on training, mentoring, and a steep learning curve in a dynamic, performance-driven environment. Private Equity Interns get the chance to contribute to live transactions, work with portfolio companies and gain first-hand exposure to different sectors. You will become an integral part of the investment team. You will work in a fast-paced environment with flat hierarchies, a steep learning curve and high expectations.

Key tasks include: Identifying and reviewing new investment opportunities, including market research, competitive analysis, and presentation of findings to the investment team Supporting sourcing efforts by scouting for promising targets and sector themes Building and analysing financial models (including LBO models) and preparing company valuations Contributing to due diligence across operational, financial, and strategic areas Assisting in the preparation of investment committee materials and supporting live deal execution Conducting industry research and preparing sector studies to support investment theses and portfolio strategy We are looking for ambitious, analytical, and team-oriented individuals who bring: An outstanding academic track record in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or law Relevant internship experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, or growth equity Initial experience in financial modelling and strong proficiency in Excel; basic knowledge of accounting principles Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Motivation, curiosity, and a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset Fluency in German and English (spoken and written) You are available for a full-time internship for three months starting in January 2027 BU is a leading investment firm with offices in in Zug, Munich, Amsterdam, Milan, and London.
