Location: Yukon Territory Company: Cobalt Construction Job Type: Full-Time | Fly-In/Fly-Out About the Role Cobalt Construction is looking for a skilled, reliable, and experienced Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team on a Fly-In/Fly-Out basis in the Yukon. We are looking for a mechanic who is comfortable working in a remote environment and is available for rotational work on an ongoing basis.
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of highway trucks, trailers, and construction support equipment, helping ensure our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to support our civil construction projects throughout the Yukon.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair highway trucks and trailers Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing Complete annual inspections and CVIPs Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues Diagnose and repair truck and trailer systems, including engines, brakes, suspension, and drivetrains Perform repairs and maintenance in a remote camp/worksite environment Maintain accurate service and repair records Work independently and as part of a team to keep our fleet operating efficiently Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs as required Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Qualifications & Requirements Licensed Journeyperson or Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanic preferred Certified CVIP Inspector preferred/required Strong knowledge of highway truck and trailer systems Experience with diagnostic tools and repair procedures Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience working in remote or industrial environments is an asset Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong work ethic and safety-first attitude Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team Valid driver's license Ability to travel by air to and from remote Yukon worksites Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position Work Schedule & Details Fly-In/Fly-Out rotational schedule Travel to and from the Yukon worksite provided Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications Overtime opportunities available Full-time, steady employment Long-term opportunity with Cobalt Construction Accommodation and meals provided while on site Work supporting civil construction projects throughout the Yukon Remote work environment with a strong focus on safety and teamwork
