Laboratory Technician III

Renaissance College is looking for a laboratory technician III to join the team. Laboratory Technician III Support Lab Technician I in setting up major health and safety rules in the laboratory Provide risk assessment guidance for lessons Manage the disposal of chemicals properly Purchase and keep stores of apparatus, equipment and other inventory Prepare materials, chemicals and apparatus for lessons, as requested by teachers for Science and related subjects Help students during lessons and demonstrate experiments to students when needed Help in the development of practical resources for students Act as a technology expert as tech III to support teachers Assist with the preparation of the Annual Wishlist Items for the following year Assist in ad hoc projects when required Any other tasks as assigned by the Sciences Head of Department Requirements Laboratory Technician Diploma/Certificate or equivalent preferred Relevant experience in working with students from Year 7 to Year 13 Fluent in spoken and written English Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently Team player Possess the physical capability to transport laboratory equipment and materials across different floors Familiar with Vernier dataloggers, Google Suite and Microsoft Suite applications Be able to design systems or equipment for students’ use Able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines Candidates with greater experience may be considered for a Lab Technician II role.
