Position Summary

Go. GoMeds Select is a fast-growing compounding pharmacy focused on patient safety and product quality. The Quality Technician inspects incoming pharmaceutical materials, reviews supplier documentation, controls quarantine status, and supports timely release for compounding. This hands-on role maintains accurate records and lot traceability while coordinating closely with Quality, Inventory, Purchasing, and Compounding teams.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients, containers, closures, and packaging for damage, contamination, tampering, labeling discrepancies, and shipping or temperature concerns.
  • Verify material identity, grade or strength, manufacturer, approved supplier status, quantity, lot number, and expiration or retest date against purchasing records and approved specifications.
  • Review Certificates of Analysis, Certificates of Conformance, and other required documents for lot matching, completeness, and compliance with established acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain quarantine until required reviews and testing are complete. Release materials within documented authorization and company procedures; obtain required Quality or pharmacist approval.
  • Coordinate sampling and third-party testing as required, track pending results, and maintain traceability between material lots, samples, laboratory reports, and disposition records.
  • Update inventory systems and status labels; segregate quarantined, released, rejected, and expired materials to prevent unauthorized use. Support proper storage and expiration monitoring.
  • Document and escalate discrepancies, missing records, temperature excursions, and failed results. Support investigations, supplier corrective actions, and approved returns or disposal.
  • Prioritize the incoming-material review queue to support compounding schedules without compromising quality. Follow SOPs, maintain accurate contemporaneous records, and assist with audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; registered technician with the state of Ohio, strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, organization, and communication; ability to follow written procedures, manage competing priorities, and use Microsoft Office and electronic inventory systems. Preferred: Related associate’s or bachelor’s degree; 1–3 years in pharmacy, pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, laboratory operations, or another regulated environment.

Experience with COAs, incoming inspection, material release, lot traceability, and applicable USP compounding standards. Work Environment and Success Measures Work includes pharmacy, receiving, and storage areas; standing, walking, inspecting materials, safe material handling, and required PPE. Success means timely, accurate material disposition, complete records, reliable lot traceability, and prevention of unreleased material use.
