Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment.

We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Job Description: Receive and review new patient referrals from physicians, hospitals, and other providers. Contact patients to gather demographic, insurance, and medical history information. Request and obtain prior medical records, pathology reports, imaging, and labs relevant to the patient's oncology or hematology diagnosis.

Ensure all required documents are received, organized, and uploaded into the EMR system before appointments. Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and inform patients of potential out-of-pocket costs. Collaborate with billing and authorization teams to ensure a smooth approval process. Schedule initial consultations and coordinate follow-up appointments as needed.

Act as a liaison between patients, providers, referring physicians, and clinical staff. Communicate scheduling or documentation needs and provide ongoing updates to patients and providers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient intake records. Assist with phone coverage, document scanning, and other clerical duties as needed.
