Job description

Human Resources Assistant Dudley Land Company | Full-Time | In Office | Oklahoma City, OK About the Role At Dudley Land Company, our people are the business, and service is one of our core values. Our HR team supports three companies (Dudley Land Company, Dudley Staffing, and Dudley Utilities). As our Human Resources Assistant, you’ll often be the first person an employee, new hire, or manager talks to in HR, and you’ll set the tone.

A warm welcome on someone’s first day, a quick and clear answer to a benefits question, a thoughtful note on a work anniversary: that is this job as much as the paperwork behind it. You’ll work in the office, side by side with our HR Manager, Senior HR Specialist, and Recruiter, keeping the department running smoothly and helping build a culture where people want to stay.

What You’ll Do Be the friendly, reliable first point of contact for employees and managers with questions about policies, benefits, and changes, and know when to bring in the right teammate Welcome new hires: prepare their onboarding packets, guide them through paperwork in Docu. Sign, and coordinate across departments so they’re ready on day one Help drive a positive culture through birthday and anniversary recognition, cards, and company events Partner with the Senior HR Specialist on benefits enrollments and open enrollment prep, Paycor updates such as W-4s and direct deposits, PTO tracking, employment verifications, and new-hire check-ins Keep employee and contractor files, I-9s, trackers, and reports accurate and confidential, and support periodic records audits Send annual and 90-day performance scorecards and follow up until they’re complete Assist the HR team with compliance: route agency, court, and carrier notices the same day, keep labor-law posters current at every location, assist with certificates of insurance, and track recurring filing deadlines Support the Recruiter and our recruiting virtual assistant: spot-check candidate data in the applicant tracking system, keep job postings and talent pools current, start background checks and drug screens, and cover interview scheduling when volume spikes Keep the HR team informed on projects, issues, and concerns A Day in the Life You might start by greeting a new hire and walking them through their first-day paperwork, then help an employee sort out a benefits question.

Midday could mean updating records with the Senior HR Specialist, sending out 90-day scorecards, or helping with open enrollment prep. Before you head out, you’re lining up next week’s anniversary shout-outs. The work changes hour to hour. What stays the same is that people walk away feeling helped.

About the Team

an HR Manager, a Senior HR Specialist for payroll and benefits, a Recruiter, and you. You’ll work with all of them every day, see the full employee lifecycle up close, and learn HR from every angle: recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, and the people side. It’s a career-building seat with room to grow into a specialty.

What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent Experience in a customer- or people-facing role (for example front desk, customer service, hospitality, or retail) Strong emotional intelligence: patient, approachable, and able to read a situation and respond with care Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a team setting Eager to learn and grow in HR Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry Clear written and verbal communication Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Bonus Points If You Have 1+ years of administrative experience in an office setting Experience as a go-to contact for employees or customers in a fast-paced environment A track record of helping build a positive workplace culture, such as planning events or recognition programs Experience supporting HR, onboarding, or recruiting Associate’s degree or coursework in human resources or business Experience with an applicant tracking system, Docu.

Sign, or Paycor Comfortable using AI tools and modern collaboration software to work smarter Any exposure to benefits, payroll, or compliance work Familiarity with I-9s and background check processes Ready to be the person who makes HR feel human? Apply today.
