Nuclear Medicine Radiologist (2 Positions)
Job description
The UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Radiology is recruiting for two full-time Nuclear Medicine Radiologists in the Professor of Clinical "X" Series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank (commensurate with experience and credentials). Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service.
Excellent teaching is essential for appointment in this series. Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service. Candidates must possess an M.
D., D.O., or equivalent degree. Candidates must be licensed or be eligible for full licensure in the State of California, and/or meet eligibility requirements for a CA Special Permit. Candidates must also be board certified or have a clear pathway to certification in Diagnostic Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine. The applicant should have willingness to further train in specific areas of division interest (CT, Theranostics, cardiac, and oncology fields).
The applicant should have a strong research background experience with Theranostics agents. The candidate will be involved in all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in nuclear medicine and oncologic imaging. Participation in weeknight and weekend call in a rotation with other Nuclear Medicine Division members is expected.
The service hours may require routine coverage till midnight. Nuclear Medicine equipment includes four PET/CT’s scanners, and three SPECT-CT cameras. There are three DEXA machines, a thyroid probe and an intra-operative probe for positron emitters available. There are two medical cyclotrons and a state-of-the-art GMP-grade radiochemistry facility on site.
The Department of Radiology performs more than 400,000 examinations per year and has 68 full-time faculty, including 7 Nuclear Medicine Radiologists. The department places an emphasis on image quality and has state-of-the-art equipment, including up to date MRI and CT scanners, including photon counting CT and ultra-high resolution CT.
The Explorer total-body PET/CT scanner offers abundant research opportunities. Our clinical and research work extends across multiple premier facilities, including our Level I Trauma Center, the cutting-edge EXPLORER Molecular Imaging Center, and our new state-of-the-art 48X Complex, Outpatient Surgery Center, opened in 2025.
