Permanent Substitute Teacher - Crystal Lake

Description: Ellington Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Permanent Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will cover grades K-6 at Crystal Lake School.

Job Summary

The Permanent Substitute Teacher will serve as the primary substitute for the district when classroom teachers are out. The assignment will vary from day-to-day and will not include long-term assignments.

Qualifications

All candidates must hold a bachelors degree. In addition, a state and national criminal check will be required, as well as a state DCF search. Working Conditions: The permanent substitute is expected to report to work every day school is in session and will be guaranteed a teaching assignment each day that school is in session.

The permanent substitute teacher will be paid at the rate of $17.14/Hour for non--certified candidates and $18.57/ Hour for certified candidates. There are no additional benefits. Assignments will be made through the district's Substitute Coordinator. Selection Procedure: Applicants chosen for an initial interview will be contacted.
