$75k to $100k

USAFull-timePosted Oct 14, 2026

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our preconstruction team. In this role, you will evaluate blueprints, engineering drawings, and route maps to forecast precise costs for outside plant (OSP) fiber deployments, underground boring, and aerial cabling. You will provide accurate financial evaluations to ensure incoming bids remain profitable and competitive in a fast-paced market.

This position can be located anywhere in the US and will report to the Executive VP of OSP Services.

What You Will Do

Analyze civil and structural construction drawings, network route maps, RFP documents, and project specifications to prepare accurate project estimates. Calculate precise quantity takeoffs for fiber optic cables, innerduct, conduits, handholes, poles, racks, and related hardware. Estimate labor man-hours and productivity rates based on installation conditions, trenching depths, and aerial heights.

Solicit, review, and level pricing quotations from material suppliers, specialty subcontractors, and equipment vendors. Account for municipal permitting fees, traffic control requirements, prevailing wage scales, and union labor agreements in project costing. Identify design gaps, utility conflict zones, right-of-way constraints, and potential change-order exposure.

Compile final structured bid packages, proposal pricing sheets, and value-engineering alternatives for management review.

What You Will Need

High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 3–5 years of hands-on estimating or project experience in telecom, utilities, or low-voltage electrical systems. Basic understanding of NESC, NEC, OSHA, and regional utility coordination rules.

Strong comprehension of OSP/ISP fiber deployment, structured cabling, and aerial/underground construction methods. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Salesforce, Bid2Win, Sitetracker, and Procore. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, competitive, and profitable bids in a fast-paced environment.

Base pay range for this position is $75,000 – $100,000 annually. Actual pay within this range will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and work location. This position is also eligible for the following general benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; and other benefits as described in the company’s benefits program.
