Senior Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy
Job description
We have Part time, evening and day shift position. Working shift hours could be between operations hours of 8:30 AM-8:00 PM and/or 9:00am to 5:00 pm Saturday/Sunday. The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner.
Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). Diploma or GED Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License. Minimum of 2 years (> 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification
- OR - 3 years (> 6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification. Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program. Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances). Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state.
