Accounting Manager

• Glens Falls, NY, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: 4 Year Degree, Salary Range: $63000.00 - $73000.00Salary/year, Job Category: Finance, SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Accounting Manager is responsible for reporting and oversight of the expense division of the company, including Accounts Payable and Purchasing departments. As a senior member, the Accounting Manager will provide oversight to junior management team members.

Essential Functions

(Job Duties) Provide oversight to staff members completing AP, CR, and Purchasing functions within the Finance Department. Provide guidance and training in all aspects of general accounting as necessary. Review and approve daily expenses prior to entry into accounting software. Compile and/or review month-end work papers.

Produce monthly Functional Board Report. Provide analytics for expense categories as requested. Work with Senior Finance staff to produce financials for audit and required information for State Report Filing and discussing/reviewing day to day operations. Assist with annual budget process. Coordinate and work with others in finance department to insure coverage of responsibilities.

Standards Accuracy, timeliness, working knowledge of processes, software and necessary functions. Completeness and working understanding of accounts and agency procedures and policies. Ability to work with various departmental personnel to provide requested information. Provide support and backup as necessary.

40 hours per week. Workweek schedule: Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur. Travel Travel will be as needed and occasional travel for training may be required.

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience with 2 years of supervisory experience or combination of education and experience.
