J ob S u mma r y Prepare patients for provider exam, take vital signs, record patient history and assist in office procedures. Administer treatment, medications and injections as ordered. Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment with recent test results and correspondence. Call patient regarding test results as instructed by provider. Participates in the patient check out process: facilitating follow-up tests, and referrals and may participate in acquiring prior authorizations to allow for timely scheduling of follow-up appointments to other providers. Maintains referral system and ensures accurate and timely follow through with all referrals generated. Prepares, cleans exam / procedure room and setup appropriate supplies. Ensures equipment, forms and educational materials are available and ready for use during visit / procedure. Maintains and monitors all equipment used for patient care and testing and reports discrepancies to supervisor. Collects and prepares specimens and transports to lab. Follows hospital policy for specimen labeling and logging. Performs unit office procedures including all general administrative duties as required (i.e. scanning, filing, faxing, phones, courier duties, etc.). Acts as a transporter for stable, non-acute patients for testing or treatment. J ob Re q u i reme nts a.M ini m um E du ca ti o n Re qui reme nt : High school diploma or GED required or 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of High School Deiploma. Completion of Medical Assistant Program required. b. M i n i m um E x p er i e n c e Re qui reme nt : Three to five years in a healthcare setting is preferred. Computer skills required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Excellent customer service skills required. c. M ini m um Li ce n s e Re qui reme nt : BLS required within 90 days of hire/transfer. Completion of annual Medical Assistant Competency training. Delivering world-class health care one patient at a time.

$23.00 - $34.50
