Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Quality Innovation Engineer to join the SAS team to enhance equipment quality and stability for our production lines. As SAS expands its capacity and introduces new technology (NTI), this role is essential for implementing continuous improvement actions for Engineering Excellence.

You will leverage data-driven systems to ensure that equipment performance is consistent across the FAB, minimizing variance and maximizing yield. Role and Responsibilities Job Duties Equipment Quality Stabilization

• FDC Implementation & Optimization: Coordinate the setup and operation of FDC (Fault Detection and Classification) systems for new lines and the evolving requirements of existing production.
• Sensor & Spec Management: Define and audit sensor priorities and precision specifications to reduce "False Fails" and improve the overall FDC Health Index.
• Defect Prevention: Develop smart interlock systems to prevent equipment instabilities from impacting wafer quality. Tool-to-Tool Matching (TTTM) & Consistency
• Initial Setup (i-TTTM): Perform i-TTTM for new equipment being installed in the line, ensuring they match the Reference tools’ performance.
• Consistency Maintenance (c-TTTM): Utilize the c-TTTM system to verify equipment stability after PM/BM activities, ensuring identical performance across different chambers and tools.
• Variance Analysis: Analyze Trace data and sensor overlays to identify and eliminate hardware-induced variance between tools. Quality Program & System Management
• EQMS Integration: Operate and optimize the EQMS (Equipment Quality Management System) to track the lifecycle of equipment quality from setup to mass production.
• Cross-Site Collaboration: Work closely with HQ and DSK teams to synchronize quality standards and implement global best practices for the S2 and T1 lines.
• KPI Management: Monitor and report on quality indices, focusing on reducing equipment-related losses and improving performance to achieve business targets. Minimum Years of Experience and Education
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Equipment Background: Comprehensive fundamental knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment (Etch, CVD, Diffusion, etc.).
• FDC Expertise: Experience in setting up FDC parameters, monitoring sensor traces, and managing alarm thresholds.
• TTTM Experience: Proven experience in Tool-to-Tool Matching (both initial and continuous) to ensure equipment uniformity.
• Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing large-scale time-series data to identify root causes of equipment drift. Skills and Qualifications The current base salary range for this role is between $106,000 - $174,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
