Logistics Associate

St. Francisville, LAPosted Oct 22, 2026

Job description

Job Summary

The Logistics Associate handles the hands-on work of keeping materials, equipment, and supplies moving on an active job site. Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, this role unloads and checks deliveries, moves and stages materials, counts inventory, and keeps the laydown yard and storage areas organized so field crews have what they need.

The Associate works from the Coordinator's daily direction and brings shortages, damaged goods, and questions to the Coordinator as soon as they come up. This is an entry-level, hourly position suited to someone who is dependable, comfortable with physical work outdoors, and interested in learning site logistics from the ground up, with room to grow toward the Logistics Coordinator role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Unload, check in, and inspect incoming deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies against packing slips and purchase orders, and report damage, shortages, or mismatches to the Logistics Coordinator. Move, stage, and deliver materials to the correct crew, laydown area, or storage location as directed by the Logistics Coordinator.

Label, tag, and organize materials so they can be found and counted quickly. Perform daily and weekly inventory counts and record results accurately in the tracking tools the team provides. Fill material and supply requests from field crews, and pass along requests that can't be filled from on-site stock to the Logistics Coordinator.

Keep the laydown yard, storage containers, and staging areas clean, organized, and safe as the site develops. Help prepare materials and supplies ahead of key site events, such as crew changes, shift starts, and scheduled deliveries. Enter delivery, inventory, and material-issue records promptly so the Logistics Coordinator's records stay current.

Follow all site safety and security rules, and report unsafe conditions or damaged equipment right away. Speak up about problems or better ways of doing things in day-to-day material handling. Other duties as assigned. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and the ability to stay on task with limited supervision.

Able to follow verbal and written instructions and carry them out accurately. Careful with details: counting, matching part numbers and quantities, and recording what was received or issued. Clear, respectful communication with field crews, drivers, and the Logistics Coordinator. A quick learner who can pick up new terminology, tools, and site-specific processes.

Not afraid to ask questions when something is unfamiliar or doesn't look right. Safety-minded and comfortable working around an active construction site. Basic computer skills, including comfort with a phone, tablet, or laptop for record entry; basic Office 365 (Excel and Outlook) a plus. Willingness to learn inventory and logistics tracking tools (training provided).

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. No prior logistics experience required; experience in warehouse, receiving, stocking, delivery, or similar hands-on work a plus. No construction industry experience required; willingness to learn site vocabulary and processes on the job matters more than prior industry experience.

Military experience a plus. Physical Requirements: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and move about an active construction site for most of the shift, and use hands to handle materials and equipment.

Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and in a temporary/mobile job-site setting (trailer or tent). Work Environment: This is an on-site, ground-up construction environment, not an office or warehouse setting. The site is in the early stages of development, so conditions will evolve as the project progresses.

Breakfast and lunch are provided on site. This is a secure/confidential site: once on site for the day, employees may not leave and re-enter. Full-time, hourly, with the expectation of being on site every scheduled day. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The duties and responsibilities described above are not a comprehensive list, and additional tasks may be assigned as the scope of the position may change as necessitated by business demands.
