Distribution Supervisor
Job description
Position Summary
The Distribution Supervisor supports daily warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring the efficient movement of aftermarket parts from receiving through shipping. This role provides direct leadership for warehouse personnel and drives safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate daily receiving, inventory, picking, packing, and shipping activities. Supervise, train, coach, and develop warehouse team members. Monitor workflow, staffing, and productivity to meet operational and customer requirements. Ensure accurate inventory transactions, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution.
Oversee order fulfillment to achieve high levels of on-time delivery and order accuracy. Track and improve key performance metrics, including productivity, inventory accuracy, throughput, overtime, and safety. Promote compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment utilizing SS and continuous improvement principles.
Collaborate with Customer Service, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Transportation teams to resolve issues and improve customer service.
Qualifications
Education
Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent education and experience considered. Experience 3-5 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience. Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
Skills Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of inventory control, warehousing, and order fulfillment processes. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement experience preferred.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with routine material-handling activities.
