Corrections Deputy

As a Corrections Deputy, you will play a vital role in maintaining order and providing emergency response within the Montgomery County Jail.

Your responsibilities

will include the care, custody, and general welfare of inmates, ensuring the facility's safety and security. This role demands considerable specialized training and experience, along with a comprehensive understanding of complex subject matter and procedures. Provide emergency response and manage inmate care and custody.

Ensure the safety and security of the Montgomery County Jail facility. Accurately prepare records and reports, maintaining detailed documentation. Assist in the training of personnel, fostering a skilled and knowledgeable team. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Sheriff's Office Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.

Participate in recruitment and community relations activities, representing the Sheriff's Office. Provide courtroom testimony as required, offering expert insights. Act with firmness, tact, and impartiality, maintaining a professional demeanor. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, ensuring clear and concise reporting.

Meet all training requirements, staying updated with the latest skills and knowledge. High School diploma or GED is mandatory. A valid driver's license is essential for this role. Certification from the Tennessee Corrections Institute is a must-have. Experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial.

The ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively. Knowledge of applicable state statutes, laws, and regulations is necessary. Proficiency in using office equipment and computer software is required. Physical fitness and the ability to render emergency assistance.
