Position Overview

The MPC is responsible for providing care and support to children at Bethany House on Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 8pm, focusing on their mental health and overall well-being. This role involves creating and implementing activities that promote emotional wellness, assisting with everyday concerns, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Support: Provide one-on-one and group support to children, addressing their emotional and behavioral needs. Assist children in developing coping skills and positive behaviors. Activity Planning: Develop and implement therapeutic activities and programs aimed at enhancing mental health and social skills. Organize recreational and educational activities that promote engagement and teamwork.

Monitoring and Assessment: Observe and document children’s behavior and progress in relation to their mental health goals. Collaborate with mental health professionals to assess and adjust care plans as needed. Daily Care: Assist children with daily routines, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Address and resolve any immediate concerns or conflicts that arise.

Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, educators, and caregivers, to provide comprehensive support. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care strategies. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with children, families, and staff.

Provide regular updates to families regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
