Maintenance Generalist MG05U, 2nd Shift Forest, MS

Job Details: The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support efficient plant operations. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, ensuring food safety, maintaining equipment reliability, and promoting a safe work environment while adhering to Tyson Foods policies and procedures.

are based on existing Tyson maintenance job descriptions and Forest facility references.

Essential Functions

Maintain and promote Tyson’s safety culture. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems. Repair and replace motors, pumps, bearings, shafts, conveyors, augers, couplings, steam and water lines. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor electrical repairs.

Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and schematics. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation. Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and other maintenance equipment as trained and certified.

Support emergency repairs and respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions. Perform additional duties as assigned by maintenance leadership. *Must have 1 year maintenance experience within the immediate past 2 years . Rehiring Criteria: Applicant must not have worked for Tyson more than a total of 3 times prior.
