Kaizen (Fabrication)Team Member

Job Details: Job Location: YKTA

• Madison, AL, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Day, Summary/ Objective: Support the manufacturing operations and Kaizen department through fabrication, repair, or modification of auxiliary equipment.

Essential Functions

(but are not limited to):

• Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.
• Operates a cutting torch, welding equipment, drill press, saw and various hand tools such as saws, drills, plasma cutters, grinders, etc., and able to be certified to operate a forklift and genie boom.
• Container, dolly, parts rack, carts repair using welder, saw, drill press etc.
• Fabrication from scratch of parts racks, parts carts, part stands, etc.
• Welding parts racks, containers, parts carts, etc.
• Fabrication of any other requested production supporting item.
• Miscellaneous duties to help various departments implement Kaizens.
• Daily 5S of the Kaizen shop.
• Regular attendance is required Other Duties: Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

• One or more years of hands-on welding and general fabrication experience
• Knowledge of material and fabrication processes and tooling and fabrication equipment capabilities. . Environment: Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting. Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing on the plant floor. Repetitive reaching, pulling, bending, lifting overhead is possible. Must be able to lift up to 33 pounds at times.
