Description Department or Section: Public Safety Officer Position Classification: Public Safety General Description: Public Safety Officers will be responsible for the safety and security of company property, assets, guests and employees. Be able to work 2pm-10pm Shift. Officers will work in a law enforcement position and/or a traffic position on the Authority campus.

Officers will work in conjunction with and report directly to Public Safety Managers and the Director of Safety and Security. Typical Work Routine Includes But Not Limited To: Patrol and monitor for patron/guest safety Be present at assigned post to ensure guest/patron safety Respond to emergency calls from Security Officers as needed Manage crowd control as needed Monitor guest/patrons for excess alcohol consumption Conduct preliminary investigations as needed.

Manage traffic flow at venues. Monitor and control traffic entering and exiting the venues to ensure traffic flows smoothly and pedestrians cross safely. Ensure pedestrians are safely crossing roads. Report illegally parked vehicles to Security Deliver high quality customer service: Respond to client and staff requests for assistance, additional equipment, room refreshes.

Use correct radio etiquette to respond to requests and radio calls in a timely and professional manner. Use radio ear-pieces to insure control of radio communication and client satisfaction Assist co-workers with completion of duties to insure client satisfaction. Assist visitors, clients, vendors, and others with directions and information about the facility.

When possible, escort guests to desired locations. Meet and exceed customer expectations by delivering superior quality service and teamwork. Safety and Security: Observe and practice safe working techniques. Demonstrates a sense of urgency, while always putting safety first. Correct or report safety hazards. Understand and acknowledges best practices for building evacuation and emergency situations.

Assist with building evacuation when necessary Conduct routine safety checks on machinery, equipment, life and safety systems and equipment, and all facility areas. Knowledgeable of policies regarding safe working procedures and conditions on the premises of and will be responsible for practicing such procedures Will successfully complete Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED training and utilize this training when needed.

Maintain a clean, orderly work place. Understand and follow guidelines for protecting our property, and utilizing safe and careful work practices Maintain a clean, orderly personal work space, equipment, and appearance Ensure that all storage rooms are kept clean and orderly Follow company uniform, dress code, and grooming guidelines to present a neat, clean appearance Demonstrate respect.

Exhibit a professional demeanor at all times, to everyone Utilize professional communication skills-verbal, and written to interact with others Meet privately with management to resolve differences, discrepancies or conflicts Maintain a cordial and professional working relationship with co-workers When possible, assist co-workers with execution of tasks to insure the success of all events and activities.

Maintain equipment by following established procedures. Follow company procedures to acquire and return equipment, including pagers, two-way radios, keys, carts, supplies, etc. Assume full responsibility for company property in your possession. Notify management of equipment and facilities in need of repair or replacement, or supplies requiring replenishment.

Reporting requirements: Submit shift reports as assigned to maintain internal harmony. Report all events involving criminal or suspicious activity, illness or injury, involving employees, guests, vendors, contractors, or others in our facility. Report all safety issues, broken, damaged or mal-functioning equipment or facility damage Complete and submit required payroll information, leave requests, and related documentation in a timely manner.

Attend and participate in required meetings and training to work toward enhanced job performance and understanding. At all times, project a positive image to employees, guests, vendors and others. Display a positive outlook and pleasant manner with all subordinates, peers, and clients. Position requires irregular work schedules and the performance of work assignments, which may not be directly related to job specifications.

Attendance is consistent and tardiness is avoided. Demonstrate flexibility in dealing effectively with unscheduled events/changed priorities/incomplete information. Adjust priorities and respond with a sense of urgency to matters of importance. Keep management promptly and fully informed of any situation that requires immediate management attention.

Maintain positive working relationships with customers, service contractors, suppliers, and companies and firms doing business with Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority, to promote coordinated services to clients. At all times, present a positive image of the Authority and its component divisions. Support the mission, vision and objectives of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority and its component divisions, and follow company policies and procedures.

Support and implement management decisions. Act as a team player, working with other departments to realize shared goals and objectives that will achieve “One Team, One Company” . Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

Requirements

Hold a Georgia P.O.S.T certification for law enforcement post. Be an active or retired police officer, Georgia state patrol officer or firefighter. Must be an active police officer or firefighter in Cobb County to work traffic post Must be available to work a minimum of 6 shifts per month. Physical requirements: Lift moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.

Ability to tolerate moderate contact with cleaning agents. Extensive walking, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching to perform routine set-up duties throughout the facility and facility grounds. Able to walk and stand for up to eight (8) hours. Read, write and speak English correctly
