Senior Automation Developer

Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Developer to streamline, test, and manage our infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The core focus of this role is building robust automation and testing frameworks within a Proxmox virtualization environment, while also bridging our operations to public cloud infrastructure (AWS/OCI).

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines using Terraform to provision resources across Proxmox and public clouds (AWS/OCI). Virtualization Management: Act as the subject matter expert for our Proxmox VE environments, ensuring high availability, optimal resource allocation, and automated cluster management.

Automated Testing: Develop, maintain, and scale comprehensive automated testing suites utilizing the Robot Framework to validate infrastructure deployments and system integrations. Custom Scripting: Write clean, efficient scripts (Python, Bash, or similar) to automate routine system administration, monitoring, and deployment tasks.

Cloud Integration: Maintain hybrid cloud interoperability, extending on-premise Proxmox capabilities into AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Team Enablement & Mentorship: Drive continuous improvement within the engineering team by actively hosting and participating in regular Friday knowledge-sharing sessions to showcase new automation techniques and testing strategies.

Requirements

Deep operational experience in Proxmox VE is a core requirement. Experience with Open. Stack deployment and management is an added advantage. Automation & IaC: Core requirements include proficiency in Terraform and advanced scripting using Python or Bash. Testing: Solid understanding of Robot Framework and general testing frameworks is required.

Familiarity with Py. Test and Selenium is a nice-to-have. Cloud: A solid working knowledge of AWS and/or OCI is essential. Working knowledge of Azure is an added advantage. DevOps: Core requirements include hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with Jenkins is preferred as a nice-to-have skill. The Ideal Candidate Profile The Proxmox Expert: You have hands-on, battle-tested experience managing and automating Proxmox clusters—this is non-negotiable for the role.

The Test-Driven Automator: You don't just write automation scripts; you write the tests (via Robot Framework) that prove the infrastructure is resilient before it hits production. The Hybrid Cloud Thinker: You understand the nuances of balancing on-premise virtualized workloads with public cloud scalability on AWS and OCI.
