Job description
We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of industrial inspection and automation systems, including X-ray inspection systems, checkweighers, metal detectors, vision systems, and related equipment. This hands-on role combines engineering expertise with project leadership.
As the technical lead and project owner for assigned initiatives, you will work cross-functionally to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and customer-focused solutions from concept through production release while meeting schedule, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
Lead the design, development, and implementation of electro-mechanical systems used in industrial inspection and automation applications. Develop and maintain mechanical designs, electrical systems, engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and technical documentation. Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), reliability, serviceability, and safety principles to new and existing products.
Manage project schedules, resources, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution from concept through production release. Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive project milestones, resolve technical challenges, and maintain accountability for deliverables. Develop specifications for purchased components, fabricated parts, materials, tooling, and equipment.
Partner with Manufacturing and Service teams to resolve production and field issues while driving continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong electro-mechanical design experience and a passion for bringing complex equipment projects from concept to reality. You should be comfortable balancing technical requirements, project timelines, manufacturing considerations, and customer needs while collaborating across multiple functions.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, or supporting electro-mechanical equipment, automation systems, or industrial machinery. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Solid.
Works, including creation and maintenance of engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and revision-controlled documentation. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial inspection equipment, automation systems, conveyors, material handling, or packaging machinery. Familiarity with electrical controls, sensors, motors, and machine integration. Knowledge of UL, CE, NEC, and other applicable regulatory and safety standards. Experience supporting manufacturing operations, field service activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites as needed.
