Workshop Technician

Do you enjoy working hands-on, diagnosing faults, and solving technical challenges? We're looking for a Workshop Technician with an electrical background to support the testing, commissioning, maintenance, and mobilisation of a wide range of Ashtead Technology equipment. What you’ll be doing: Testing and spool all electrical and hydraulic winches.

Testing and setting up diesel and electrical power packs. Leading and completing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including as client demonstrations. Conducting pre and post mobilisation inspections. Carrying out maintenance, servicing, repairs, and equipment refurbishment. Assisting with mechanical maintenance and servicing as required.

Ensuring equipment certification, calibration, and compliance requirements are maintained. Completing inspection reports, FAT documentation, and maintenance records. Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment. What experience you'll bring: Electrical qualification. Previous electrical experience in a workshop, or technician role.

Previous experience working with winches and hydraulic power units. Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems beneficial. Strong practical skills with tools, machinery, and fault finding. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proactive approach and the ability to meet deadlines. Good communication and basic IT skills Experience with wire rope spooling, winches, hydraulic power units, and hydraulic systems is beneficial.
