Job Description: LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused Bus Aide to help ensure the safe transportation of students between their residential neighborhoods and school.

The Bus Aide will assist students as they board, ride, and exit the school bus while maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive environment. The ideal candidate is committed to student safety, demonstrates patience and professionalism, and works collaboratively with bus drivers, school staff, and families to support a secure and positive transportation experience for all students.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to pass background check and fingerprint process through Dept. of Education Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50lbs Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English - which is necessary in emergencies or situations where employees need to relay pertinent information or keep themselves safe.

Available for 2 hours per day Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the bus driver when requested or as needed Assist students requiring help loading or unloading the bus Monitor the student's wellbeing and behavior during the route Respond appropriately to students' needs during the route and notify the driver of emergencies or issues Be familiar with the daily routes to assist a substitute or new driver Secure special needs students and equipment with restraints, tie downs, wheelchairs, seatbelts, car seats, etc.

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures Terms of Employment: 2026/2027 10-month contracted position Salary Range: Hourly Rate: $16/hr
