MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Associates Degree in related field of study is preferred. Experience
- One (1) year experience in same or related field. Additional related experience may be substituted for education requirement. Licenses & Certification
- Valid driver license Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to operate a personal computer in a Windows environment using Excel and Microsoft Word applications. Knowledge of the general practices and principles of material management applications and the ability to implement these processes into plans for cost-reduction techniques. Skills in systematically analyzing data requirements, workflow, planning and organization. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with all levels of staff in a professional manner. Strong oral and writing skills are beneficial to incumbent.
JOB SUMMARY
To provide administrative and technical support to the Materials Management department of the MCN Department of Health. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is generally performed in a normal office environment with some work involving driving a GSA leased vehicle. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work includes walking, standing, bending and the carrying of items such as files, manuals, supplies, etc.
and the exposure to the risks of normal office work. Performance of duties will require driving a GSA vehicle to facilities operated by the Department of Health.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following: Performs source evaluation, negotiation, cost/price analysis on contracts involving pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, specialized equipment and services necessary in and for the operations of the MCNDH. Reviews/analyzes material requests and other forms of requisitions.
Manages and maintains flow of all purchases from initial requisitions to the transfer of requisitions batch to the Office of the Controller. Maintains vendor and pricing information and compiles historical data for use in negotiating contracts, etc. Determines general and special conditions that will apply to each contract.
Performs cost/price analysis of all requisitions. Assists in Materials Management duties as directed by Manager of Hospital Procurement. Regular attendance is required. Performs other duties as assigned.
